Taeyeon is a south korean singer signed under SM Entertainment. She debuted in 2007 as the leader and main vocalist of the girl group Girls' Generation (소녀시대, SNSD), becoming a member of its subunits TTS (TaeTiSeo) and Oh!GG later on, as well as part of the project SM The Ballad. Lastly, she debuted in the new super girl group Girls On Top (GOT) in 2022 as the leader of the GOT The Beat unit.

She made her official solo debut in 2015, with the EP "I", of which she cowrote the same titled title track. Before that, she had already been known as a soloist due to her participation in the soundtracks of dramas and movies - she's referred to as the "OST Queen". The nickname is well earned - her first release, from 2008, was the OST "If", which is known as an extremely hard song to cover and is a popular song choice in karaoke's and for covers to this day. Her unnofficial chinese solo debut was with the chinese version of "Bye", OST from Mr. Go, in 2013. In the same pattern, her unnoficial japanese solo debut happened in 2017 with the release of "Rescue Me", OST of the drama Final Life, which was followed by her official debut with the japanese song "Stay", in 2018.
